It is recommended for use under oil-based paint or primer, creating a lasting bond between rusted metal and paint. Please note that Oxy-Gone is not a paint itself.

To use Oxy-Gone, follow these steps: Begin by using a wire brush or wire wheel to remove loose paint, rust scales, dirt, oil, and any other debris from the surface. Once the surface is clean, apply a coat of Oxy-Gone and let it dry overnight.

This metal rust remover is made of a water-based solution that is easy to use on automotive, household, and industrial-grade metal parts, as well as antiques. It safely dissolves rust and is perfect for bringing old, rusty parts or tools back to looking brand new.
